Dr Harper undertook his medical training at the University of New South Wales, and proceeded to Anaesthesia training at St George Hospital, including experience from St Vincent’s, The Childrens’ Hospital Westmead, The Royal Hospital for Women and The Canberra Hospital. He undertook his Provisional Fellowship with the Sydney Aeromedical Retrieval Service, before completing five years as a Staff Specialist with the Ambulance Service of NSW Aeromedical Unit.

His current practice profile includes anaesthesia for Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery, Uro-gynaecological Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Laparoscopic Bariatric and Upper Gastrointestinal surgery, and Obstetric Care.

Dr Harper is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, and has participated in several research programs with UNSW and the Black Dog Institute examining anaesthesia and treatments for depression.
